HERBY CHRISTMAS STUFFING
Using keto bread to make the stuffing for your Turkey means that you don’t have to miss out on this wonderful, traditional, Christmas accompaniment. This lovely stuffing will only give you 1g of carbs for each loaded tablespoon serving.
This is a Christmas twist on a traditional Italian dessert. It’s a boozy treat with brandy, orange and Christmas spices you can easily adjust to your own taste. It can be made within 30 minutes, start to finish, so is ideal for whipping up a quick, but spectacular dessert if friends and family join you for supper. Only 6.5 carbs per serving, what’s not to like?
This sweet and tangy cranberry sauce is a fine addition to the Christmas table. With only 1.5 carbs per tablespoon, you do not have to deny yourself this traditional accompaniment to your turkey.
CHRISTMAS BREAD & BUTTER PUDDING
The Christmas spices (and brandy if you choose it) make this family classic extra special. It’s sweet and warm and comforting and just smells delicious. Using the ‘Simply The Best Bread Rolls’ recipe earlier in this blog, the carb count is limited to just 6 per portion. Easy to make, what’s not to love?
I absolutely love mince pies, but they are certainly a huge no, no when following a keto or low-carb diet. It’s been a challenge to create mincemeat without dried fruit and sugar, so I’ve played around with several recipes and eventually settled on this one. At just less than 4 carbs per pie, these mince pies are certainly going to satisfy that desire for crispy, sweet, shortcrust pastry and Christmas-spiced fruit filling.
BLACKBERRY JAM with BRANDY & VODKA
Blackberries are one of my favourite fruits, so it is wonderful to have developed a recipe that will allow me to eat sweet, juicy blackberries, on my keto diet. I use frozen blackberries for this recipe as I pick them myself at the end of each summer season and freeze them at home. They have a much better flavour than forced out-of-season blackberries you can buy in the shops. At just 2g per tablespoon, this jam is a daily treat you can easily afford – even on keto!
STRAWBERRY & CHERRY VODKA JAM
OMG – Who can eat jam like this on a diet? This fantastic, sweet, and flavourful jam is a must for anyone with a sweet tooth on a keto, low-carb or regular low-calorie diet. The only carbohydrates come from the strawberries themselves and at only 1.65 carbs per tablespoon, it’s a lovely breakfast or afternoon treat you simply can’t afford to miss. The cherry vodka adds a wonderfully decadent feel to the jam to make it a special Christmas treat.
CHRISTMAS MUFFINS with TANGY FROSTING
These lovely muffins taste delicious, are packed with flavour from beautiful, rich, spices and make the whole house smell of Christmas baking. The recipe makes between 12 and 14 muffins and, together with the frosting, they come in at a nifty 5g of carbs each. Perfect with a cuppa and to have as a staple in the freezer for when visitors arrive.
